FOR PROFESSIONALS

Become a CMMC Assessor

CMMC assessors are credentialed professionals who conduct or lead conformity assessments. Training and examinations are delivered through The Cyber Engagement Forum and will transition to the Cybersecurity Assessor and Instructor Certification Organization (CAICO).

What assessors do

Assessors evaluate an organization’s cybersecurity practices against CMMC requirements. They work as part of accredited C3PAO teams or in supporting roles throughout the assessment lifecycle — from planning and evidence review to findings and reporting.

Credentials are earned through structured training and examination. Each level of credential carries distinct responsibilities and scope of authority.

Training and certification

Professional certification for CMMC assessors is managed through The Cyber Engagement Forum today, with transition to CAICO as a distinct certification organization. Specific course requirements, examination formats, and fees are published by those bodies — not by The Cyber AB.

The Cyber AB maintains the official Assessor Registry where credentialed professionals appear once qualified, so organizations and primes can verify status at the source.
